Kellie Pickler says she really dislikes cell phones.  The singer admits that if she didn't need one for her career she wouldn't own the mobile communication device. The one-time "American Idol" finalist likely has her phone with her these days.  She's busy promoting her recently-released self-titled sophomore album, which features the hit "Don't You Know That You're Beautiful."  Pickler is also on the road behind the effort.  She'll be performing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Friday.  Pickler is also part of Sugarland's "Love on the Inside" Tour, and her next show with the duo is coming up in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on Saturday.

Blake Shelton's new album will be hitting stores next month.  "Startin' Fires" features the singer's latest single, "She Wouldn't Be Gone," as well as two tunes Shelton had a hand in writing.  He teamed up with Dean Dillon on "Here I Am," and penned "Bare Skin Rug" with girlfriend and current tour mate Miranda Lambert.  The two also collaborated on the recording the song -- Lambert sings on the track.  Shelton explains the CD's title, noting, quote, "I'd like for this album to start some musical fires in some new fans and maybe fan the flames for the loyal fans who have been with me for a while."  The phrase comes from the album cut "Good At Startin' Fires."  The 12-track "Startin' Fires" will arrive in stores on November 18th.

Taylor Swift has proven herself to a successful singer and songwriter, but she has other talents too. She tells us, "I love to paint, and I love to write in journals -- just create things. Video editing -- I love to take video and edit it all together and put a song in the background." Taylor has given canvases of her abstract artwork to some of the people who have helped give her career a boost -- paintings which are sure to be collector's items already. Taylor's new C-D, Fearless is set to be released on November 11th.

The oldest known tracks of a creature apparently using legs have been discovered in rock dated to 570 million years ago in what was once a shallow sea in Nevada. Scientists think land beasts evolved from ancient creatures that left the sea and evolved lungs and legs. If the new finding is real it pushes the advent of walking back 30 million years earlier than any previous finding. Scientists said the animal must have stepped lightly onto the soft marine sediment, because its legs only pressed shallow pinpoints into the sea bed. The tracks were made during what is called the Ediacaren period, the time when most major groups of animals first evolved.

Police in Lee County, Florida, are searching for a thief who stole 160 bras from a Victoria’s Secret store. Two Victoria Secret’s locations in southwest Florida have been targeted since February, resulting in a total of 452 missing bras worth nearly $19,000. Several other Victoria Secret’s locations have endured smaller thefts during the same time, police said.

O.J. Simpson is in isolation for his own safety but continues to hope for a new trial after he was convicted for kidnapping and robbery. Simpson will be held in the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas until his December 5th sentencing and then is expected to be moved to a state prison. His lawyer is seeking Simpson’s release during the appeals process. Because of the seriousness of the charges, Simpson will likely remain in jail during any appeal, which cannot be filed until after sentencing. O.J. was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges for gathering five men a year ago and storming a room at a hotel-casino to seize Simpson memorabilia from two collectors. Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one testified Simpson had asked him to bring a gun.

Somebody call "Linus" -- the Great Pumpkin has been kidnapped. Bill Teer spent five months growing a massive pumpkin in his Grand Blanc Township, Michigan garden only to have it stolen from his front yard Thursday. Teer figures it must have taken three people to haul the 450-pound Atlantic Giant from alongside his driveway. The pumpkin had only been on display a day before Teer's wife discovered the theft as she left for work at about 5:30 a-m. Teer believes his great pumpkin is worth a dollar a pound and is offering 200 dollars for its return. He figures someone out there has to have seen it, saying, "You can't miss the thing."

An online study released Friday revealed almost half of U.S. workers do not respect their boss and only half believe they are competent. The study by Randstad USA found that the growing financial crisis has seen companies focusing more on their bottom line at the expense of relations with employees. The survey of 2,337 people also found only 43% think their boss is open to new ideas and only 47% were willing to work overtime to impress their boss and create more job security for themselves. Less than 30% believed their bosses were fulfilling their roles as motivators, role models or mentors.

A day after a run on a Illinois gas station where an attendant incorrectly set the pump price at only 35 cents a gallon, the owner was looking beyond the lost revenue. Mimi Zidan, owner of Pekin's Lucky Mart said, "We lost about a thousand gallons of gas and about 35-hundred dollars. But I don't feel too bad because the people looked so happy when they were buying gas." The attendant on duty at Lucky Mart realized something was wrong when the customers' bills added up to no more than five or six dollars each after topping off their gas tanks. As he struggled to deal with the hordes pouring in, he called Zidan on her cell phone. Zidan had gone out to pick up some items for Lucky Mart, which like many convenience stores also sells soda, cigarettes and snacks. Earlier in the evening, the attendant had adjusted the gas price, which should have read three-50 a gallon, to 35 cents. That was about 5:30 p-m. The gas pumps were not corrected until about 7:30 p-m. During that time, people called others to tell them to rush over and buy at the phenomenally low price. The result was that the situation at was totally chaotic, with traffic backed up in all directions when Zidan returned to the store.

Morgan notes that his leg injury was severe, and he was wheelchair-bound until he could use crutches.  Morgan is currently prepping for the release of his much anticipated new CD, "That's Why," which hits stores on October 21st.  The album features his hit single "Love Remembers."
