Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Martina McBride are on the cover of Redbook’s November issue. The magazine’s theme, “Vote For Your Country,” encourages readers to exercise their right to vote. This year will be Taylor’s first time to vote and she’s excited to cast her ballot. “My friend and I talk about it all the time, and the candidates and the issues… What we think and feel is going to count! The fact that our views matter is very empowering,” Swift says.

Jimmy Wayne has logged another first in his career.  The singer was the guest of honor at a number one party honoring his first chart-topping single, "Do You Believe Me Now."  In offering his appreciation to all the folks who helped in the accomplishment, Wayne drew a few laughs with his attempt to cover everyone he wanted to thank. But Wayne mentioned by name members of the team whose efforts were key in getting the single to the top of the chart.  "Do You Believe Me Now" is special for the performer not only because it's his first number one hit.  The song is also serving as his comeback effort, as it's his first single to reach the top five since 2003.  In addition, it's the first chart-topper for Wayne's label and the song's writers Dave Pahanish and Joe West, who also produced the tune.  The "Do You Believe Me Now" celebration took place in Nashville last Thursday.

Kellie Pickler says the phrase "what you see is what you get" really applies to her.  The singer notes that she's genuine, and whether people like her or not they need to give her credit for being authentic. Pickler is currently promoting her recently released self-titled sophomore CD.  She's said that she decided to simply use her own name as the disc's title because she had a hand in everything that went into the project, and she believes it's a much better reflection of her than her debut album, "Small Town Girl."

Championship Bull Riding has chosen Jason Meadows’ song “Ride It Out” as its official theme song. It will be featured in their TV show on RFD and at all of their events throughout 2009. The song will be available for download on CBRbull.com. Meadows is currently promoting his album, “100% Cowboy.”

John McCain and David Letterman will have a chance to kiss and make up on Thursday, when the Republican presidential nominee returns to Late Show, three weeks after he blew Letterman off for an interview with Katie Couric. Letterman spent the night of September 24th -- and, for that matter, the following night -- castigating McCain for leaving him in the lurch. McCain had said he was getting on a plane to Washington to deal with the economic crisis, but Letterman, who said he felt like an "ugly date," aired live footage of him in the make-up chair preparing for the Couric interview. McCain is no stranger to Dave's stage -- this will be his 13th visit to the show.

It was first announced in the back of a Connecticut newspaper that a man named Noah Webster was proposing the first comprehensive dictionary of the American language. Webster was mocked and scorned for challenging the King’s English. About 60% of the country spoke English at the time, while others spoke German, Swedish and Dutch. Webster believed that Americans should have their own textbooks rather than rely on English books. He created a speller that taught students to read, spell and pronounce words. Webster is the focus of a commemoration this Thursday and Friday at Yale University to mark his 250th birthday. Lectures, and exhibition of memorabilia and a visit to his grave in New Haven are planned. Webster died in 1843 at the age of 86.

California officials who oversee the Golden Gate Bridge voted on Friday to install netting to catch would-be suicides throwing themselves off the bridge. The 4,200-foot-long bridge, which crosses the entrance to San Francisco bay, is a tourist magnet that also draws people trying to end their lives. There were 39 confirmed suicides from the bridge last year, with seven unconfirmed cases, and 19 confirmed so far this year. The netting would be set 20 feet below the sidewalk and extend out 20 feet from the bridge. Officials estimate the barrier will cost $40 million to $50 million.

A new type of dry glue designed to mimic gecko feet is 10 times stickier than the gravity-defying lizards, and three times sticker than other gecko-inspired glues, U.S. researchers said last week. A 1-inch square of the adhesive can support the weight of a 220-pound man climbing up a vertical surface, but it can be easily lifted and reapplied, which would be perfect for Spider-Man.

The average price of a gallon of gas has recorded its largest drop ever. The national average price for self-serve, regular unleaded gas fell 35.03 cents to $3.3079 a gallon on Friday from $3.6582 two weeks earlier. It was the lowest national average price since March 21, 2008. Since peaking at $4.1124 on July 11th, the average cost of a gallon of gas has dropped by 80.45 cents. Diesel fuel fell 21 cents to $3.95 a gallon, the first time since March that it has been below $4.00 a gallon. Many experts say gas could fall below $3.00 a gallon as early as December.

A pregnant woman in Florida shopped until her baby dropped. When the mother’s water broke Saturday while she was shopping for shoes at a Coral Springs mall, firefighters rushed her to a hospital. But when the elevator doors of the hospital closed, the baby started coming out. By the time the elevator reached the second-floor delivery ward, she was almost born. Mother and daughter were reported in good condition.

A television anchor in Lubbock, Texas, says she had no clue her boyfriend from a rival TV station planned to propose to her on-air. KAMC-TV anchor Emily Leonard was stunned when she saw boyfriend Matt Laubhan, a meteorologist for KLBK-TV, sitting at the sports desk. Laubhan asked viewers to “sit back and watch me make a young woman cry, hopefully in a good way.” Laubhan then walked over to Leonard, dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes.

Competitive eating champ Joey Chestnut downed 45 slices of pizza in 10 minutes yesterday to win the Famous Famiglia World Pizza Eating Championship in New York’s Times Square. Chestnut, 24, says he fasted for more than a day to prepare. Chestnut won a contest in Tennessee last month by scarfing down 93 Krystal hamburgers in 8 minutes.

A Colorado woman found frozen to death in her own freezer died accidentally.  Maria Young's remains were found a little more than a week ago in the freezer and the county coroner has ruled that the 60-year-old died of positional asphyxiation.  The report indicates the manner of death was accidental.  Police in Colorado say it looks like Young fell into an open chest freezer, got stuck and lost her life, with no foul play involved.  She was found a week and a half ago by a friend.

A 105-year-old woman says the key to a long life is abstaining from sex.  Clara Meadmore is considered to be the oldest virgin in Britain and says she has never had the urge to engage in sexual relations.  Meadmore told the "Daily Mail" that she hasn't had a boyfriend and just didn't want to deal with the "hassles" of intimacy.  She made up her mind at a young age to never tie the knot and that meant she would never have sex, since jumping between the sheets in those days was only something women did with their husbands.  Meadmore doesn't regret her decision, points out she isn't gay, turned down several marriage offers and spent her free time gardening, reading and listening to the radio.  She turned 105 over the weekend.

Lisa Marie Presley gave birth to twin girls last week. The news was not revealed until Saturday. Kenny Chesney keeps mum on his political views. In an interview with the Sierra Club he says, "Politics is one of the few things I have left in my life to keep personal, so I really make an effort to do that." And he wants fans at his shows to leave politics, the economy, work troubles and relationship troubles behind. "I give people a break so they can catch their breath and remember what they love about being alive. Maybe that's a whole other kind of politics that gives people the room to really think about where they are." The deluxe fan edition of Kenny's Lucky Old Sun comes out tomorrow.

With almost two decades in the music business and 50-million albums sold, Alan Jackson gets most excited when he's writing a song. He tells us, "When...it ends up on a record or on the radio and it touches people, it's a great feeling." Alan wrote his latest hit, "Country Boy" about his fans. He tells Country Weekly magazine, "They really are country people, whether they come from California or South Alabama." Alan's Good Time Tour with Trace Adkins and James Otto is on a short break. He'll next play on October 23rd in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Trace Adkins and Lynyrd Skynyrd are planning a busy New Year's Eve -- they'll open for each other at shows in two different cities. How's that going to work? Trace will begin at Nashville's Sommet [pr. so-MAY] Center and halfway through will hop a plane to finish in Pikeville, Kentucky. Skynyrd will begin their show in Pikeville and then swap places with Trace to finish in Nashville.

Rodney Atkins is surprised he's been nominated for the C-M-A's New Artist Award (formerly the Horizon Award) for the second time, considering he's been making records since 2003. But he's thrilled for the honor. He tells South Carolina's The State newspaper, "It's nice when someone introduces you somewhere (as the) C-M-A nominee. At the same time, the listeners give you a career and an opportunity to do something you love for a living." Rodney had to cancel a performance in Jackson, Mississippi last week because his father had to have emergency open-heart surgery. So far, he hasn't cancelled any other dates.

Trailer Choir is going digital. A self-titled, four-song EP will debut on all major digital outlets on November 4th from Toby Keith’s ShowDog Nashville label. “Trailer Choir” includes “Off The Hillbilly Hook,” “In My Next Five Beers,” “Rollin’ Through The Sunshine” and “Rockin’ The Beer Gut.” “Off The Hillbilly Hook” is the lead track on Keith’s second major motion picture, “Beer For My Horses.”

Another Monday has come and gone and we hope you join us tomorrow morning to get your Tuesday kicked off right. Keep it rolling with Wheelz 100.5!
