People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has fired off a letter to Elizabeth Hurley urging her to spare the life of a piglet she is raising at her farm in England. Hurley is reportedly planning to launch a new range of pre-packaged meals and a cookbook for “healthy” and “low-fat” cuisine. But with her recipes set to include meat, PETA wants her to keep her organic range vegetarian. “Given the chance, the piglet you have affectionately described hand-rearing would grow into a curious and intelligent adult who is as smart, loyal and affectionate as your dog, Emily. Just as you would cringe at shipping Emily off to slaughter, you should also be reluctant to betray a pig who you have cared for and befriended,” the letter read.

make his debut next spring.

Cledus T. Judd says a softball injury that dislocated his shoulder led him to the woman he married yesterday in Cartersville, Georgia. Judd, now on the air in Atlanta, was referred by his doctor to see a massage therapist, and ended up meeting his future wife, Amy Cameron. “I went in two days in a row,” Judd said. “The second time, I was like, ‘OK, I have to have the digits here.’ I asked her to dinner and we went out. I swear to you, there was never a doubt the first time I kissed her on the first date. I was in from there.” Judd proposed about four weeks ago by giving Cameron a ring and a book about long-lasting marriages. The newlyweds will spend their honeymoon in Florida.

He says, “My wife and I and our mothers take turns in dealing with him.” Paisley adds that it really isn’t harder to go on the road now that he’s a dad. “You can be home more than you are away.” Brad is married to actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

Authorities in the Colorado Springs, Colorado, area are investigating reports of a roaming African lion. One man even managed to snap some pictures of it. But experts say the grainy photos could be of a big dog. Even tracks from the animal are inconclusive. Authorities say there are no reports of missing lions in the area. The search was called off Monday when neither a lion nor a dog was found. Deputies are asking people in the area to keep an eye out for anything big and suspicious.

An intruder who broke into a Colorado Springs electronics store won’t face any charges, even if
authorities can find the culprit. Colorado Springs police confirm it was a bear who broke a sliding
glass door at a Circuit City store yesterday morning, then went inside to a customer waiting area
where surveillance cameras recorded its every move. The scared bear then ran back out the same broken glass door and headed for a tree. Authorities say the young adult black bear got spooked after setting off an alarm at a nearby Fazoli’s restaurant.

"I've had people tell me all year they look at our show as an event, as something to forget about gas prices, something to forget about what's going on in that area of their life. A Chinese farmer's attempt to get some deer antlers ended up with a marathon nap. According to Ananova.com, the 45-year-old man was using a syringe filled with anesthesia to sedate the animals. However, he accidentally poked himself with the needle, allowing a trace amount of the liquid to enter his system. Within seconds he was unconscious. The man was rushed to the hospital, where doctors received help from vets at the local zoo in treating him. He woke up eleven hours later. Doctors say the anesthesia was powerful enough to knock an elephant out in less than a minute.

A Florida woman is behind bars for expressing her anger at a judge who wouldn't let her out of jury duty. The "Ocala Star-Banner" reports 23-year-old Sarah Muller made two attempts Monday to be removed from the jury pool. She first told the judge that she was in poor health and needed to see the doctor. When that didn't work, she later tried telling the court that she was a "racist." The judge denied her request again, and Muller then shouted an expletive at the judge. She was taken into custody on a charge of direct criminal contempt of the court. The judge later sentenced Muller to three days behind bars and a 50-dollar fine. She also owes 183-dollars for use of the Public Defender. Muller told the newspaper during a jailhouse interview, quote, "Sometimes I get upset and I say things. I didn't know I would go to jail for freedom of speech."
