Mexican soldiers held a U.S. Border Patrol agent at gunpoint in Arizona until they realized they had mistakenly crossed the border. The agent repeatedly identified himself in English and Spanish. After four minutes the four Mexican soldiers lowered their weapons and tip-toed back to Mexico. Ironically, incidents like this are not uncommon. Officials said Mexican military personnel crossing in the U.S. along the nearly 2,000-mile southwest border happens frequently. More than 40 incidents had been reported since October 1 last year.

But just days after Freeman was involved in a serious car accident over the weekend, the actor’s lawyer and business partner, Bill Luckett, confirmed the split. An 11-year-old boy in South Ogden, Utah, who wanted to get his girlfriend’s attention without waking her parents, found out that a pebble fired from a slingshot has a lot more velocity than one tossed by hand. Now Joe Brunton is doing odd jobs around his neighborhood to raise the $160 he needs to replace the window. Joe and a friend were trying to see the girl early one morning a few weeks ago. At first, they threw wood chips at the window, but that wasn’t enough, so the boys went home for heavier artillery. The slingshot got the girl’s attention, but it also cracked the window. The boys immediately confessed and promised the girl’s parents that they would replace it.

A Miami beekeeper said he removed the second largest hive he has encountered in his 20-year career – about 3 million bees – from a home. Beekeeper Adrian Valero was called to remove the hive after three people in the area were stung by the bees, which residents of the house said had been around for about a year. Valero said it was not surprising that the bees had stung locals. “These are Italian bees,” he said. “They are a little bit aggressive if you bother them too much.” The hive, which was large enough to produce 60 pounds of honey, was moved to a bee farm far from the neighborhood.

One of the last living dinosaur descendants will become a father for the first time at the age of 111. Henry the Tuatara and his mate Mildred produced 12 eggs in mid-July after mating earlier this year at the Southland Museum in New Zealand. Henry has lived at the museum since 1970 and had shown no interest in sex until he recently had a cancerous growth removed from his genitals. He is now enjoying the company of three females and might breed again next March. Tuataras are lizard-like descendants of a reptile species that roamed the earth with the dinosaurs 225 million years ago.

Trace Adkins can pray that his new single, "Muddy Water," goes to the top of the chart. He says he couldn't do that with "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," which was up against Carrie Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and Brad Paisley's "When I Get Where I'm Going." He tells Michigan's Lansing State Journal, "I couldn't pray, 'Lord, could you please make my butt song number-one, instead of the two Jesus songs?'" "Muddy Water" takes a decidedly more inspirational route with its message of redemption.

Jo Dee Messina will sing the national anthem before the Boston Red Sox face their arch-rivals the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on August 26th.George Strait is quick to admit that his single "Troubadour" is one of the most biographical songs he has ever recorded. Video director Trey Fanjoy continued that theme with the video for the tune. She portrays Strait's life as a husband, father, and entertainer by using a mix of old photographs and new footage shot near his home in San Antonio, Texas. The result is a great overview of Strait's career and his personal life. Fanjoy was also behind the video for George's single "Seashores of Old Mexico."

Jewel visited the Morning Star Sanctuary, a women's shelter in Nashville, to kickoff Mary Kay's second annual "A Kiss for Country" campaign. The campaign helps raise money by auctioning off lip prints of country stars with all proceeds going to programs committed to ending domestic violence. Bids on the "kisses" can be made at MaryKay-dot-com.

I couldn’t think of a better place.”

Tim McGraw's management has told Nashville's Tennessean that the copyright infringement lawsuit filed by a Texas songwriter is "absurd." James Martinez is suing Tim and the writers of Tim's hit "Everywhere" for 20-million dollars in damages claiming the song is similar to one he recorded in 1996 called "Anytime, Anywhere Amanda." Tim's manager Scott Siman says, "Artists are the target for these kinds of suits and we defend everyone vigorously."
