Tracy Lawrence's next album is a bit of a departure -- it'll be a collection of new inspirational songs. Tracy tells the Tennessean, "My mom and dad have wanted me to do this for a long time, and I felt it was the right time. I'm in a good place in my life." Tracy does feel that some of the new songs have mainstream potential.

Blake Shelton has heard enough of girlfriend Miranda Lambert's ringtone, and he's letting the world know. Miranda's phone rings is Beyonce's "Irreplaceable." Brad Paisley is tearin’ up the road about as much as he’s tearin’ up the charts. Paisley’s “Waitin’ On A Woman” is sprinting up the charts, and as we reported earlier, his new album, “Play,” will be in stores in November. The project features everything you’ve come to expect on a Brad Paisley album. Paisley had a lot of opportunity to have some fun while recording “Play.” He explains.

Alan Jackson's passion for all things automotive is well-known. Before he moved to Nashville, he owned more than three hundred cars, boats, motorcycles and trucks -- not all at the same time. Alan says, "Sometimes I'd go out and buy a car and sometimes I'd have it sold by five o'clock that afternoon." Though he's had his share of fancy rides over the years, these days he prefers to drives the kind of vehicles he had when he lived in Georgia before he was a star -- mostly trucks and occasionally a vintage car.

The title cut of Taylor Swift's upcoming Fearless C-D is sparking an Internet phenomenon. U-S-A Today reports that, after audio from a video of Taylor performing the song shot by a radio station last year found its way online (it's since been removed), scores of teenage girls have posted home-made videos of the song on You Tube. The clips technically infringe the song's copyright, but Taylor's label doesn't want to discourage fans from getting into the music. Taylor says, "If you know that somebody's passionate enough about a song to want to sing it, that's a really good indicator that it's going to do well." Fearless is set for release in November.

Jerry Seinfeld has signed a mega-buck deal to be the new spokesperson for Microsoft. The comic will collect 10-million dollars to appear alongside Bill Gates in a series of ads about something -- namely the company's new Vista operating system. A scientist has discovered a previously unknown insect -- on E-Bay. Dr Richard Harrington paid 40 dollars for the fossilized insect encased in amber because he thought it would make an interesting curio -- but it turned out to be a long extinct and previously unknown species of aphid. The 50-million-year-old creature is now named after Harrington -- despite his effort to dub it Ebayi.

John Pala nearly lost his life when he was attacked by a bear in the Great Smoky Mountains earlier this week -- but he wasn't about to lose his shirt. The Tennessee man had one request to make of park rangers who managed to shoot and kill the critter -- he wanted them to retrieve his Lynyrd Skynyrd T-shirt from its stomach when they dismembered it for disposal. Pala got his wish -- and, we can only hope, a chorus or two of "Gimme Back My Bullets" for good measure.

Library director John Hanson said a couple of dozen people are cited each year for failure to return materials or pay fines. But Short said that once inside the bathroom, she felt an overwhelming urge to push despite the fact that her water had not yet broken. She was assisted in the delivery by her husband, a volunteer firefighter who happened to be in the restaurant, and two police officers who arrived soon after the baby began her entry into the world. The mother said they named the child Taylor Winterpark Short, with her middle name being a tribute to the town of her birth.

A daring thief made off with a grand piano in a mysterious heist at a Spokane, Washington, hotel over the weekend. Someone stole a Steinway Grand Piano from the Ridpath Hotel lobby early Sunday morning. A staff member remembers seeing the piano Saturday evening, but it was gone by early Sunday morning. The thieves apparently knew what they were doing. The 100-year-old black Steinway weighs nearly 1,000 pounds and was worth at least $25,000. The hotel is offering a reward for the missing piano.

Deputies in Bay County, Florida, were forced to use a Taser on an escaped emu named Plop-Plop. The large female bird escaped from a farm last weekend and ended up in a pen with some other animals. When deputies arrived, Plop-Plop “went kind of crazy,” said Sheriff’s deputy Randolph Grob. Officers didn’t want the bird to hurt itself, or them, so they used a stun gun to immobilize the emu. The bird was brought to the Animal Control Center, where she has made a full recovery.

The state has given its 37,527 employees one year to get fit – or pay $25 a month for insurance that is otherwise free.
